Wood Frogs at the Library

Artist:
New England, USA
Notes:

During late winter and early spring in New England, Wood frogs are one of the first freshwater animals to wake up and become active, having literally frozen their bodies in the mud at the bottoms of wetland ponds and vernal pools (temporary bodies of water that dry up in summer). These frogs were recorded in the evening at a small pond in front of the Public Library of a sleepy little town in Western Massachusetts.
