Whimsical Melodies in the Southern Atlantic Forest
What a privilege to wake up every morning with these neighbours!
In the most preserved area of the Rio Grande do Sul State – the southern one which borders Uruguay and Argentina, sharing a lot with these countries – a place that holds native and re-grown forest and a agro-forestry, making it biodiverse and safe, along the margin and areas of the Forqueta River and its outstandingly beautiful 70m waterfall, whose power is heard at a distance.
This recording has made itself after I ran outside when we noticed the Urutau singing not too far. As I stepped in the darkness in clumsy fashion, fire beetles got curious, landed on me for a while, I set the gear and let go for the night. Besides the orchestra of birds, we can also hear titi monkeys. Some of the birds in this recording: Rufous-crowned Greenlet, White-necked Thrush, Chivi Vireo, Golden-crowned Warbler, Swallow-tailed Manakin, Rufous-bellied Thrush, Red Junglefowl.
The forest is vibrant, it is alive!
