This recording was made by the roadside near the Oroktoy Bridge. In front of me, a bend of the Katun River roars loudly; behind me, a steep slope with numerous nesting burrows of swifts or swallows. A rich chorus of insects and birds can be heard.
he bank of the Katun River in a valley surrounded by uplands, on the approach to the Oroktoy Bridge. The vegetation is typical of a high-mountain landscape: steppes with open fields, low-growing trees and shrubs, grassy areas, and a hilly terrain.
