The Southern Ocean at Tunkalilla Beach sounds always relentlessly and tirelessly powerful and intense, even on a beautifully calm and sunny mid-afternoon in early spring, while sitting above the shore on a green hillside. The ocean’s restless surging and soughing dominates the whole landscape, but is faintly embroidered with the distant voices of Eurasian Skylarks and the distant calls of a few passing birds: a Raven, some Galahs, a flock of Little Corellas. Recorded in Ra:mindjeri country. (This is a binaural recording, so listening with good headphones is recommended.)
