Titillating Nocturnal Insects

Artist:
Alentejo, Portugal
Notes:

What it seemed first like a regular nocturnal soundscape in the early Autumn – here meaning almost everything still feels like Summer – revealed itself a little more interesting: electrifying-like insect sounds predominate this recording, even if mostly in the background, the thrilling sound permeates through the space with its high energy density.
At exactly midnight, the flying insect approaches slightly from the microphones for some moments, allowing a more focused auditory glance.
In the background, the wind through the reeds sometimes feels like the movement of a calm ocean shoreline. A mammal is around, two little owls move in the distance, towards the end of this story. But can you tell there is water nearby?
