The small village Palupõhja is located in the middle of the Alam-Pedja nature reserve. The river Emajõgi flows on the south side of the Palupõhja village. On the banks of the river a Willow and a Bird Cherry and other trees and bushes grow and nightingales like to sing there. Birds can be heard in the background: Common chiffchaff, Great spotted woodpecker, Common blackbird, Garden warbler, Cuckoo and others.
