Superstition Dawn

Artist:
Arizona, USA
Notes:

Recorded on a cold spring morning in the Superstition Wilderness, near Hackberry Spring.

I placed the recorder on top of a large boulder overlooking the creek. There was a Boy Scout troop camping nearby, so I got up early to record the dawn chorus before they all woke up. The birdsong was bright and vibrant, echoing around the steep canyon walls.

Some of the bird species you can hear: Cardinal, blue-gray gnat catcher, house finch, cactus wren, rock wren, canyon wren.
