In the midst of summertime in the Bosnian mountains, the whole acoustic landscape gets very silent, yet that does not mean there isn’t any unique and interesting sound to be found, if patient enough. Spending the night in my hammock in these wild mountains has introduced me to this subtle ambience of crickets and other insect sounds that I honestly don’t yet even know the name of. Occasionally you can hear some owls in the background and even jackals howling, but the mesmerizing insect chorus is the main mountain melody.
