Song of Gibbons
Artist:
Khao Yai, ThailandNotes:
Deep in Khao Yai National Park, the big patch of a lush forest is awakening as the morning light starts to filter through the canopy. The white-handed gibbon (Hylobates lar) and pileated gibbon (Hylobates pileatus) share this forest, their powerful singing chorus started shortly after sunrise, echoing through the wild valley. This hour-long recording captures a perfect morning when the gibbons were particularly active. In some parts, you can also hear the Great Hornbill (Buceros bicornis) flying overhead and making its distinctive call.
