A moody and intense afternoon of sparse dry thunder is punctuated by incredibly dynamic passages of ticking loud insects.
The whole ambiance feels like a pre-storm moment, with many birds active and fast as the wind sweeps through the bushes and grasses.
It was the first time I saw the peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), apparently the fastest bird in the world!
