Morning Chorus in Maasai Mara
I love the morning chorus in Maasai Mara because it varies a lot depending on the time of year, weather conditions, and specific locations within the Maasai Mara ecosystem. This year, the month of January has experienced frequent rains, unlike previous years. After an overnight of heavy rains, the dawn chorus at the edge of Maasai Mara Reserve was filled with a symphony of nocturnal cricket sounds and an impala’s huff as they gave way to morning bird songs. In the recording one can enjoy the melodic songs of African Paradise Flycatcher, Ring-necked Dove, Laughing Dove, Emerald-spotted Wood Dove, White-browed Robin Chat, Slate-coloured Boubou, Black-headed Oriole, Black-backed Puffback, Chin-spot Batis, Grey-backed Camaroptera, and many more.
