Midday Chorus in the Amani Forest

East Usambara Mountains, Tanzania
Notes:

The soundscapes in Amani Nature Forest Reserve vary each hour which made it very interesting to record sounds during the middle of the day. After the morning chorus has quietened down, the cicadas take over and their loud calls fill the forest, drowning some birds calling in other parts of the forest. As the day advances, Black and white Casqued Hornbills join the midday chorus with their laughter-like calls echoing further into the forest. Often the forest is calm, but the calmness is broken by occasional wind, blending the songs of cicadas and birds into a beautiful midday forest symphony.
