Marsh Frog Population Explosion Croaking in the Night

Renče, Slovenia
Notes:

I was visiting a friend in Renče, Slovenia and he told me how the frog population had a massive explosion this year which lead to people waking up in the middle of the night from all the racket.

Of course I had to hear that for myself so I went out in the middle of the night to see a riverbank full of frogs almost toppling over one another. I set up my recording rig and could hear them starting to croak louder and louder until they seemed to spot some motion and fell silent, just to start up again.

It definitely was the most wonderful frog concert I’ve ever heard and I was even able to sit in silence right next to the river until the frogs realized I was not a danger and started to croak through the night again.
