Kurangk Dawn Chorus with Thunder

Meningie West, Australia
Notes:

Dawn in Mallee bushland near the inland edge of the Kurangk/Coorong lagoon, as the wing of a thunderstorm passes over the open ocean nearby. The Kurangk/Coorong lagoon is separated by high dunes from the open ocean. The lagoon – and the beach running parallel to it on the ocean side of the dunes – extends for up to 140 kilometres (87 miles). All along the Kurangk (and in this recording, too), one will always hear the vast roar of the ocean emanating from the far side of the dunes. From wherever you hear it, the apparent direction from which the roar is emanating is always shifting with the constant changing of the tide.
