Kōkako Serenades at Tiritiri Matangi
Artist:
Tiritiri Matangi, New ZealandNotes:
It’s a relatively quiet morning on Tiritiri Matangi, but the Kōkako are busy eating fruit while singing their melodious but haunting song. They’re joined by Pōpokatea, Kereru, Hihi, and many of the other manu birds that are thriving on this pest-free island. A few Little Penguins didn’t seem like they headed out to sea today and they call out with the forest birds. It had just rained the night before and you can hear the trees drip while the wind shakes them.
