Jungle Frog Pond
Frog Echoes
Night in the forests of Sai Yok National Park transformed into a hypnotic and otherworldly soundscape as nocturnal amphibians emerged from their daytime silence. The small pond, tucked away between forest trees, became a natural concert hall as different frogs created a rich nighttime ambience. This is one of the last more vast corners of Thailand’s wilderness. The park is primarily composed of mixed deciduous forests, which cover about 84.5% of its area. These forests creates a relatively dry environment, somewhat reminiscent of savannas found in Africa, due to the seasonal rainfall patterns typical of western Thailand. Despite this generally drier character, Sai Yok National Park also features microhabitats with more lush, tropical vegetation which I have managed to discover.
