On one of my treks in the forest of Taman Negara I came across this lovely stream and decided to spend the night there to listen to the relaxing river sound.
There was a thunderstorm brewing in the distance so I set up to make this recording.
As usual, shortly after 7:00 pm the Empress cicadas make their way through the forest with their distinct trumpet call announcing the approaching night.

This recording starts around 6:45 in the evening (sunset at 7:20) and runs until the forest transitions to the sounds of the night.
