It’s a delightful feeling to listen to a a duet between this elusive species. It’s the first time for me in three years and that holds a renewed sense of optimism.
The Eurasian Eagle-owl population (bubo bubo) is decreasing and its main threats are related to habitat loss and hunting.

A serene night, with the lake shore gently swinging with a presence of an otter (I suspect) and the clear vocalisations of this impressive orange-eyed nocturnal bird make one of the highlights of my personal recordings of 2024.
