Dawn in Flowering Eremophila

Artist:
New South Wales, Australia
Notes:

This recording begins about 30 minutes before sunrise in a semi-desert area of western New South Wales, Australia. It was recorded in early Spring, 2024.

Many of the Eremophila shrubs are in flower and there has been good rain over the previous 6 months so there has been a lot of bird breeding. The recording includes White-fronted Honeyeater, Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater, Singing Honeyeater, White-winged Fairy-wren, Pied Butcherbird, Emu, Australian Raven, White-winged Triller, Willie Wagtail, Crested Bellbird, Pink Cockatoo, Red-backed Kingfisher, Pied Honeyeater, Red-capped Robin, Chestnut-rumped Thornbill, Zebra Finch, Galah, Chestnut-crowned Babbler, Budgerigar, Crested Pigeon, Blue Bonnet, Australian Magpie, Brown Falcon, Australian Ringneck, some flies and probably a few other species. The Emu is the low frequency drumming and growling sound and in places you can hear the Emus walking close by.
