Dawn Hour at the Pond

I’m sitting on the bank of the backwater of the Voronka River in the park of the Yasnaya Polyana nature reserve in the Tula region of Russia.

It’s early foggy morning, the sun rose about half an hour ago. The forest surrounding the backwater is gradually waking up, filling with new voices of birds. In addition to the polyphony of birds, you can hear the sounds of modest frogs, rare splashes of water from beavers scurrying about their business, and the infrequent buzzing of insects. Among the birds you can hear red-breasted flycatcher, collared flycatcher, black-headed gull, eurasian golden oriole, hawfinch, wood warbler, laughing gull, northern goshawk, garden warbler, fieldfare, eurasian three-toed woodpecker, mistle thrush, gadwall, eurasian wren and others.
