Dawn breaks as I watch from my sandy bed in the dry Limpopo River.
Hear the diurnal world as it rouses from its slumber and welcomes the new day.
Recorded alongside a small remnant pool of freshwater in the bushveld environment of the Limpopo River, bordering South Africa and Botswana. The River was mainly dry at the time of the recording, but with a lush woodland ecosystem along the banks, awaiting the next rains which were only a few days away.
