Notes:

The recording was made in a grassy field at some distance from the bank of the Katun River. Here, the sound of the wind and a rich chorus of insects almost completely mask the river’s loud roar.
The bank of the Katun River in a valley surrounded by uplands, not far from the village of Kuyus. The vegetation is typical of a high-mountain landscape: steppes with open fields, low-growing trees and shrubs, grassy areas, and a hilly terrain.
