	An excerpt from a Brood X emergence recording, taken on an overnight trip to the Charles C. Deam Wilderness in southern Indiana, 2021. The soundscape was immersive and massive, with millions of male cicadas calling in sync as the afternoon temperatures sweltered. A hot, humid, and intensely loud 28 hours.
