Dawn ambience of a Bornean lowland jungle: the first light chorus of a pristine rainforest deep in the interior of West Kalimantan, recorded during a 6-day expedition into unmapped territory. This recording captures the layered acoustic world of lowland dipterocarp forest — one of the most biodiverse and acoustically rich ecosystems on Earth—at the moment when nocturnal life retreats and the day shift erupts into a rich soundscape. Recorded far beyond the reach of roads or villages, accessible only with Punan guides who know these forests as home. The soundscape reveals a jungle at full biological intensity that defines a healthy, undisturbed rainforest. Getting here required six days on foot through lowland jungle, river crossings, cliff ladders, and canyon bridges built on the spot.
