Between Seasons
A little dirt road almost entirely covered by ungoverned vegetation led me to a little opening of the big lake. The views are almost majestic and the quietness welcoming.
I’ve been in awe of the Autumn natural soundscapes and this year, being so far the hottest recorded, has been very special to say the least as we’re having almost summer days still.
At first, I heard what I wanted, the cranes if only for a few seconds. I noticed how the water was full of ripples and sometimes little bubbles, which one can hear if attentive enough. In front, at a several meters distance, the contours of the valley are passages to many marine birds and a white heron has landed there for a while. I hear insects softly with black birds starting to warm the dusk chorus, tending for more activity as the sun comes nearer.
