RecordingBees in a Woodland Clearing
Artist:
California, USANotes:
An immersive recording of bees made with Bishop, my DIY binaural head. This is an excerpt of a longer recording made in Sequoia NF during the summer of 2024 while I was on a conservation bioacoustics project. I was very lucky to have my evenings free in such a way that allowed me to make recordings for my personal archive each night I was out.
Bishop was placed in a scrubby, vegetative clearing within a larger temperate forest, staged at ear height relative to the bee’s activity. Birdsong in the mid- and background gives this recording a nice sense of scale.
