The Beaver Hills in Alberta, Canada is a designated UNESCO Biosphere east of the city of Edmonton. It is a moraine area characterized by small hills (called “knobs”) and wetlands (called “kettles”) in a boreal mixed wood forest.
The biosphere includes Elk Island National Park and a number of provincially protected areas.
This recording was made in the first week of July in 2024 and includes birds such as Yellow Warbler, Least Flycatcher, Song Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbird, White-throated Sparrow and Red-eyed Vireo.
