Badlands Streamside
Artist:
Alberta, CanadaNotes:
I placed the microphones close to the ground to lessen the effect of the Spring winds, which also helped emphasise the sound of the ground-dwelling crickets. The sometimes gusty winds and the rushing, bubbling stream are the background sounds to this soundscape from the Badlands of Alberta. Birds that can be heard include Northern House Wren, Western Meadowlark, American Robin, Mourning Dove, Rock Wren, Clay-coloured Sparrow, American Goldfinch, Brown Thrasher, Gray Catbird, Spotted Towhee, Cliff Swallow and the ubiquitous Canada Goose.
