A very windy dawn in wet and damp forest dominated by towering eucalypts like mountain ash, stringybark, and blue gum, which form a tall canopy above dense fern gullies and pools of water where Eastern Smooth Frogs (Geocrinia victoriana) seem to be plentiful. This recording was made at first light in early spring in the Jarowaitj country of the Gadubanud people; or, in different words, the forests of the Otway Ranges of Victoria, Australia.
(This is a binaural recording: listening with good quality headphones is highly recommended.)
