Nature and Earth.fm – artists on streaming services
Finally, NATURE is officially registered as a musical artist! Which is indeed cause for celebration. And so is Earth.fm, where we carefully curate the pure living sounds of our planet. You can find us as registered artist on streaming platforms, too. To build momentum, we’ve just released two EPs in collaboration with the artist (eternally known as) NATURE.
These releases are part of the Sounds Right Initiative, led by the Museum for the United Nations – UN Live and EarthPercent, which raises funds for vital nature conservation around the world.
EarthPercent is a charity with a mission to unleash the power of music in service of the planet. Since 2020, they have been adapted to the needs of the music community, but always with the goal of addressing the climate crisis. Representing multiple artists touring globally, the co-founders – music managers Adam Callan and Hiroki Shirasuka, and the iconic Brian Eno – pondered the environmental toll of their industry but also steps to address and redress this.
You can read more about their story so far here.
In April 2024, EarthPercent collaborated with UN Live, Spotify, Music Declares Emergency, and a collective of partners to launch Sounds Right: a music initiative to recognise the value of NATURE, “the world’s most natural talent”, and inspire millions of fans to take environmental action. As an official artist, NATURE can, for the first time, generate royalties from its own sounds to support its own conservation.
Our future depends on us having a healthy planet. But our actions are severely damaging the environment. We need to act now to keep our planet and communities clean, healthy and thriving for generations to come.
Brian Eno
EarthPercent also collaborated with the music publishing sector to develop a pilot initiative, The Earth as Your Co-Writer, to make royalty collection more streamlined and efficient. This has allowed further songwriters and collaborators around the world the opportunity to make the Earth a beneficiary of their work.
It’s good to know that the Sounds Right Fund is overseen by an Expert Advisory Panel – a group of world-leading biologists, environmental activists, Indigenous people’s representatives, and experts in conservation funding – ensuring that the funds reach those projects that most need them.
Which brings us to our collaboration and the two EPs you can now stream. Most of the streaming revenue will go towards conservation projects supported by EarthPercent, in line with our core principles and mission.
Rain in the Andean Amazonia
Tracks:
- ‘Soft Afternoon Rain by a Lake’
- ‘Downpour in the Canopy’
- ‘Soft Rain on Swampy Grounds with Slow Thunders’
This EP captures the living soundscape of one of Earth’s most biodiverse places: Manu National Park, Peru. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is where the Tropical Andes descend into the heart of the Amazon.
These recordings immerse the listener in the layered rhythms of tropical rainfall, from the first drops on the forest canopy to the full, enveloping cascade of an Andean downpour – an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the natural world.

Water Sounds in the Pan-Arctic
Tracks:
1. ‘Ice and Water Symphony in the Pan-Arctic’
2. ‘Ice Water Song in the Pan-Arctic’
3. ‘Melting Ice River in the Pan-Arctic’
4. ‘Taigi Forest River in the Pan-Arctic’
5. ‘Ice River at an Icelandic Fjord in the Pan-Arctic’
Water Sounds in the Pan-Arctic traces the movement of water across Arctic ecologies, from frozen stillness to flowing systems, from vast ocean rhythms to intimate moss landscapes.
Recorded in the boreal forests of northern China and the moss landscapes of eastern Iceland, these sounds hold traces of melting, flowing, breathing, and staying. They carry time, transformation, and interdependence. They reveal changes unfolding within our environment.
