Dear friends,
We’re delighted to share with you that family membership is now available on both the Earth.fm website and app (version 16.0 and above).
Introducing new family sharing
Previously, family sharing was limited to users with iOS devices only, through Apple’s built-in family sharing system.
With our new family membership, our users can share their family membership without these limitations. Now, you can create a family group no matter what platforms its members use. These include Android, iOS, and our website.
Family membership can be shared with up to six family members. We believe that this will help users to share with their loved ones the benefits of using Earth.fm.
All family members will have access to the paid membership features. These include unlimited listening time of our 1,000+ high-quality nature soundscapes, creating playlists, favourite recordings, discounts for our beautiful paintings, and using the offline mode on the mobile app.
How to subscribe to the family membership
Go to Settings → Membership → Explore to see all of our plans on the Earth.fm app – or visit the Become a member page on our website. Monthly or yearly subscription plans are available.
The user who subscribes to the family membership will become the plan manager of the family group. Plan managers can organize the group by inviting or removing members.

How to manage family sharing
Once the subscription process for the family membership is completed, you can go to Settings → Membership on either the Earth.fm app or website, then click the Manage family sharing button. There you can check your list of family members, and – if you are the plan manager – find your invite code.

How to invite family members
On the Manage family sharing page, plan managers can share the invite code via their preferred method. Click the Invite someone button to share the code by sending a message via apps, or use Copy invite code to copy-and-paste it directly.

Example of inviting someone by sending an email via Gmail from the Earth.fm app
Invited users can join the family group via the link you shared. Once they have done so, they will be added to the family member list on the Manage family sharing page.
How to remove members or leave the family group
Plan managers can remove a family member by pressing the (-) icon on the mobile app, or the Remove button within the action menu on the website’s Manage family sharing page. Once a family member is removed from the family group, they will no longer have access to paid membership features.

Family members can also choose to leave the family group. On the mobile app’s Manage family sharing page, press the (-) icon – or use the Leave button within the website’s action menu for their own account. This will disable all the paid membership features and switch their account to the free version.

How to cancel the family membership
If they wish, the plan manager can cancel the family membership. All members will continue to have access to the membership’s paid features until expiry of the subscription. But, once the subscription does expire, all family members’ memberships will switch to the free version, and no longer give access to paid membership features.
Important notes
App version requirements: All mobile users must update to version 16.0 or higher to access family-sharing features.
Joining via the website only: Family members can currently only join the family group through the Earth.fm site, but can subsequently use the same account in the app.
We hope this new feature helps you and your loved ones enjoy Earth.fm together. If you experience any bugs or difficulties when using it, please let us know.
If you enjoy Earth.fm and would like to support us, please consider subscribing to become a member.
